Facilities & Equipment for StudentsThe facilities available at engCETL include a Design Studio and 4 Breakout rooms together with various bookable resources. engCETL Rooms
The engCETL has a suite of rooms on the upper floor of the Keith Green Building which can be booked in advance by students for group work, presentations, etc. Rooms are available from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday-Friday.

KG2. 21 - Design Studio (Standard seating layout for 36 (maximum capacity 48 seated))
The Design Studio is equipped with a lectern with PC and an induction loop for hearing aid users, LCD projector and graphic tablet, along with whiteboard/flipchart easels for presentations.
KG2.22, KG2.20, KG2.19 and KG2.11 - Breakout Rooms 1 to 4 (Standard seating layout for 12 (maximum capacity 16 seated))
The Breakout Rooms are each equipped with a PC, Promethean interactive board, wireless (and wired) LCD projector and whiteboard/flipchart easels for presentations.
Portable induction loops for hearing aid users are also available; please be sure to ask for one if you need one in the breakout rooms.
All rooms also benefit from the availability of video presenter and wireless ‘bluetooth’ keyboard and gyro-mouse/pointer.
NB Breakout Rooms 2 and 3 are partitioned by a removable screen and can be booked together for a maximum seating capacity of 32. Please notify engCETL reception in advance if you require the partition to be removed.

Room Booking Procedure
- Request a room up to 7 days in advance.
- Arrival – report to the reception desk in good time to pick up the key and equipment tray for the room you have booked. You will be asked to leave your student ID card at reception and sign in.
- Vacating - return the tray and all its contents to the reception desk, sign out and reclaim your student card.

The Small Print
Your signature confirms that you have read and agree to abide by the rules set out here and on the notices contained in the tray, and that you agree to take responsibility for the contents of the tray and the room you have booked.
The key and tray will only be issued to the person who booked the room, and should be returned by him/her, unless another arrangement has been made with engCETL reception in advance.

Room Key and Tray
You will be issued with a tray containing the following items:
- Room key.
- Promethean stylus (for Breakout Rooms 1-4 only; the Design Studio pen is attached to the lectern).
- Remote control for the LCD projector.
- Whiteboard/flipchart markers and board rubber.
- Set of instructions for use of the room and its equipment, including a picture room layout (Please ensure the room looks like this before you leave).
Late Arrival/Changing Bookings
- Any rooms not occupied within 15 minutes of the agreed booking time will be released for use by others.
- To change the time of a booking or to cancel, please give as much notice as possible.
Vacating Rooms
- Vacate promptly.
- Any student not vacating a room within 5 minutes of the end of the booking may be subject to penalties regarding future bookings.
- Room to be locked and key placed in tray.Return tray to reception.
General
- Upon arrival, please wipe your feet (the carpet at the top of the stairs is a doormat, please use it!).
- There is a “No Food and Drink” policy in engCETL rooms and in the foyer, and we ask all students and staff to abide by this policy. This helps us keep the rooms looking and smelling nicer for longer, for the benefit of all users
- Place rubbish in bins (Paper in green bins for recycling).If it is raining, please close the rooflight! (Breakout Rooms 2 and 3).
- Close all windows/rooflights before leaving.Individuals not respecting this policy may be subject to penalties regarding future bookings.
- If rooms are not available, you may be able to use our foyer for small group discussions – please ask.
Lost Property
The engCETL has a lost property store; please see Judith or Megan at reception.
Penalties
We may, at our discretion, bar individuals from making room bookings.

- Room cleaning
- Lost or missing room keys.
- Lost, missing or broken equipment, including (but not limited to) items in the equipment tray, furniture, fixtures and fittings, IT equipment native to the room booked.

In addition further equipment is available for use within the engCETL rooms and for teaching and learning purposes outside of the engCETL building.
