Encouraging Active Learning Through the Use of Case Studies

engCETL and Engineering Subject Centre Workshop

Date: 21st March

Location: Loughborough University

Case study teaching offers an accessible yet challenging student based teaching method.  Case studies can be used to bring new insights to problems through discussion, role play and analysis.  This workshop, aimed at engineering academics, will provide an opportunity to explore different types of case studies, good practice for using case studies in your teaching and how to approach writing a case study.  As part of the workshop you will have the opportunity to experience a case study from the learner perspective and exchange case study examples already available for you to use with your students.
