WebDISS

WebDISS is a database containing over 200 student dissertations submitted since 1995 by students on the Commercial Management and Quantity Surveying (CMQS) programme. The system contains details of project supervisors and moderators which can be found within the reference section of the web site.

Members of academic staff who are registered with the web diss system can access the administration pages of the site to add/edit projects and add/edit project supervisor and moderator's details.

Main Objectives of the Project

The main objective of the project was to enable both staff and students to be able to search for details of dissertations of final year students on the Civil and Building department's BSc Commercial Management and Quantity Surveying (CMQS) programme. An existing Microsoft Access database containing past student's dissertation details was adapted and a web interface designed that enables dissertations to be searched by criteria such as student surname, first name, project title, supervisor, moderator, year and keywords.
