Good communication is the key to success in team projects and as we become more adventurous in constructing teams the lines of communication become more extended. By way of example, projects in the Wolfson School at part B level involve typically 110 students, 8 supervisors, 8 industrial companies and 36 part D mentors (2004/5 figures).
My proposal is to provide a simple to use discussion board for each project team with access to the part B students, the part D mentor the academic and industrial supervisors. An additional feature that would also be useful would be a second discussion group linking the supervisor with his team mentors but hidden from the students (a management forum)
