The ARM Instruction Set is a CD-based software engineering study unit incorporating ARM Developer Suite programming software together with study notes, laboratories, tutorials and assessments.
Main Objective of the Project
The main objective was to produce a coherent structure and framework for the delivery of a study unit on the subject of software engineering (approx. 3-4 hours study time). The unit content will include a substantial proportion of existing programming software (ARM Developer Suite Software) together with appropriate notes, tutorials and support materials for this software. Formative assessments were also incorporated for students to track progress using existing CAA software.
The development used an existing generic Authorware structure, developed for CREST distance learning delivery, so that the material could be quickly developed and delivered for use both off campus via CD and on-campus via the CAL launcher. A new graphical screen layout was produced to match the electrical engineering corporate identity, maintaining existing software structure and navigation.
