Attendant is an online database system which provides a straightforward way for departments to record attendance information about their students. This information is then immediately displayed in the student's tutorial records within the 'Co-Tutor' system.

The system has been set up so that any lecturer can create and take their own registers. There is also a user who is the department administrator, this gives a higher level user the ability to create and mark any register. The registers can be created and marked at any time, with student lists created automatically from the Central LEARN database from Computing Services.

The data gathered can be accessed at any time through the web site. Student's individual attendance record can be seen as well as attendance figures for whole modules. The student's attendance 'ratio' can also be viewed through Co-tutor as well as Access to the individual's attendance record.

At the moment the system is on trial in the Wolfson School, but the system is available for any department to use. To access the site and go into the Demonstration Department, visit the website (address above) and click on the 'guest login' button. As a guest you can just view your registers and your attendance figures. An administrator would have more access rights.
