Enterprise resources for engineering & design students

Date: October, 2009

Proposed By: Richard Newman, Glynis Perkin and Jenny Narborough

Staff Contacts: Glynis Perkin

This project is intended to develop the enterprise skills of engineering and design students and encourage entrepreneurial success.  It will use and develop an enterprise package containing resources for students which will be available online via Learn and deliver an enterprise event where students will start-up and run a virtual business.  The resources will be designed to be used as either individual elements, or as a complete package. Learn enables the editing of content for module-specific customisation.

engCETL will host an enterprise competition where students will create and run a virtual business using the business simulation software SimVenture.  The students will develop their enterprise skills through working in small (≤5) teams of entrepreneurs.

The SimVenture competition will be run through Wolfson School, with the help of Dr Peter Willmot.
