Equipment database, for teaching and research. Initially focussed on materials characterisation.
Information to be listed includes:
• Name of equipment
• Photo
• List of capabilities
• Case studies of practice, who has used it in the past
• Handbook for use (eg manufacturer pdf)
• Who to contact to book or hire
• Category of access (whether bookable by all or restricted to special events)
Internal focus to the audience, probably protected by the usual University username/password. As well as drilling-down through the categories, a comprehensive search facility should be provided. The database would also have an introductory guide of how to search for the information relevant to the user.

Latest Update - May 2009
Progress: 100%
The website has now been handed over.
Equipment from several departments is now available on the system, and some more usability tweaks have been added.
A launch event is planned for Friday, September 18th, to release the system University wide.
