Main Objectives of the Initial Scoping Study.
The intitial 3 day scoping study surveyed all departments on their requirements for an image bank and whether it would be a feasible future project. The survey revealed a need for the ImageBank with many academics willing to contribute their own images for use in the Faculty.

Main Objectives of the Project
To create a web-based image bank of Engineering photographs that can be freely accessed by Engineering academics. It will have a searchable catalogue of images which can be downloaded for use in the Engineering Faculty for teaching resources on the web. The photos will be taken by the EEC and will be copyrighted to the University for royalty free usage. The engineering image bank will be free to use.

Brief Project Description
The project involves taking a number of photographs that would be suitable for use by any engineering academic in their teaching resources (RGB low resolution for web delivery). These images will then be catalogued in a database with associated keywords, so that the image bank can be searchable. A web site will be created that links to the database so that any engineering member of staff can search and download any of the images to use. If time permits, there could be the opportunity to make an upload area for each department so that the image bank can keep being added to in the future. This departmental area could also serve as a host for existing royalty free images that the department may have, so that they are more easily available in digital format for any member of staff to use in their teaching.
