Continuing Support of engCETL Past, Current and Future Projects

Date: May, 2007

Proposed By: Dr Caroline Lowery (engCETL)

engCETL and the EEC have produced a wide variety of interactive online tools to aid teaching and learning. We wish to spend time on the web-based dissemination of these tools, for further uptake within the CETL departments and across the institution. This will mean that academics and students can easily be made aware of these tools and facilities that exist to enhance teaching and learning, such as Web-PA, Co-Tutor and Attendant.

The project proposed is to disseminate 2 or 3 engCETL projects through an interactive portfolio that will promote, support and disseminate the engCETL tools developed.  It is proposed that the demos/instructions will provide a visual overview as well as practical directions on how to use the tool. It is likely that the media used for this project will be animation software and video, this will be in conjunction with alternative media (such as postcards or posters) to aid the dissemination process.

A generic template will be developed and used so that all project demonstrations or instruction introductions follow a similar format to help give the engCETL tools a standard identity. This can then also be used to advertise the equipment available for hire through engCETL, and the template for the instruction booklets.

In the first instance the demos/intros will be placed on the engCETL website, but they could also be placed on a DVD for dissemination purposes.

Progress: 10%

To pull together all of our main University wide tools, we have created 'Tutor Tools' at http://tutortools.lboro.ac.uk. Here you can log in to all of our tools and find out the status of your interaction with each system. For example, how many registers you have open in Attendant and how many assessments are open in WebPA.
