Qualitative data from the JISC funded, Loughborough based, Rights and Rewards Project shows that academics would like to have more of an opportunity of finding colleagues on campus with the same learning and teaching interests.
This project aims:
- To provide recognition of both teaching and research activities
- To encourage cross-curricular collaboration
- Raise the profile of teaching
- To encourage staff to start listing interests and expertise
- Build up a record of current teaching and learning interests and expertise

Latest Update - October 2009
Progress: 100%
The Academic Profile page was developed as part of the pilot Teaching and Learning Repository system 'PEDESTAL'. It was anticipated that we could re-engineer to be either stand-alone or part of new tutor tools system incorporating engCETL tools.
As part of the feasibility studies, a demonstration RSS feed was produced which listed an individual's academic publications from the publications database. It was anticipated that simple "drop-in" code could be developed so this feed could be inserted directly into an academic's home page, and updated automatically every time there's a new addition to the publication database.
The outcome of the project has changed because of the context of the ongoing developments by IT Services to the publications database in the light of the new REF. Also, the University is in the process of procuring a University wide Content Management System (CMS) to provide a coherent standard template for departments and members of staff for their staff page.
However, we can use the RSS publication feed work in future projects.
