In most circumstances, activities will run during the next academic year.We are proud to freely offer this opportunity to Loughborough University’s engineering-related staff, but there are other funding streams available to you, two of which (the Engineering Subject Centre and Loughborough University Professional Development) are highlighted below. |

The Engineering Subject Centre offers a wide range of funding opportunities to engineering academics across the UK.
You may have ideas that would be nice to pilot and implement, but how could you fund them? And what if you're doing something really innovative in your teaching, but no one knows about it? Do you need technical support and access to web-based technology? Would you like to take on engineering education development work in your own department through a Mini-Project? Or bring together like minded people in a Special Interest Group?
Would you like the opportunity to share what you're doing with others? The Engineering Subject Centre regularly commissions Case Studies of Teaching and Learning methodologies, for which they offer £200.
Are you interested in reviewing books, videos or software, which you could use in your teaching? Then why not look at their list of resources currently available for review.
If you have an idea which is not covered by their current funding opportunities please contact the Centre and they would be happy to discuss ways in which they could support the activity. Alternatively the Higher Education Academy's Connect Portal may offer ideas for additional sources of funding.
Invitation to submit a proposal for funding
The Engineering Subject Centre is pleased to be able to offer funding for development and research Mini-Projects. The aim of this funding opportunity is to enable the sharing and development of good practice and resources in engineering education that will be beneficial to the wider engineering community and to encourage subject-based pedagogic research.Submissions
The Engineering Subject Centre invites bids, throughout the year, from engineering academics for Mini-Project funding to support work at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. This is a competitive bidding process for a fixed amount of funding. Proposals will be judged by the panel against the criteria outlined below.Informal contact about all ideas for submission is strongly encouraged. Please contact the Centre either by email (liz@engsc.ac.uk) or telephone on 01509 227170.
