Making A Bid

Proposals can be made by staff for engCETL development, research, support or funding work.  Details on how to propose a project with engCETL is provided below.  In addition, guidelines for project proposals are available for downloading. Word document pdf document

Proposals submitted to the engCETL should focus on improving the student learning experience and/or linking education with industry in line with the engCETL aims. The invitation to submit ideas in the current project proposal process has now closed.

The engCETL Project Proposal Process

The process invites Loughborough University staff to submit a project proposal for development, research or support work with staff in engCETL.  The project is free of charge and successful proposals are usually assigned the time of one or more engCETL staff members.

The engCETL staff offer a wide range of skills with a team of learning technologists, pedagogic researchers, academics and students.  We also work closely with seven seconded academics who operate as the interface between those who work in engCETL and their own department colleagues.  The diagram below shows the seven Loughborough University engineering-related departments that we work with, and all academic and academic related staff, administrators and technicians from these departments are entitled to submit a project proposal to engCETL.

This year there is also the potential to undertake projects for other departments and support services if the proposer has a funding resource.

Previous completed projects include IPTME: Supporting and Creating Links with Industry, Web-PA and Co-Tutor.  The call for proposals are in addition to the ongoing projects that engCETL are committed to.  The engCETL Panel consider the applications, and results are announced thereafter.  Topics must enhance the quality of teaching and learning and be related to the strategic aims of engCETL.

engCETL projects are unique in that they provide an allocation of staff time rather than funding. For more information on funding opportunities from other sources please see our Other Funding webpage.
