Room Bookings
Staff and Students from the 7 engCETL departments can book any of our 5 rooms on the upper floor of the Keith Green building, when they are not being used for taught modules. Rooms are available from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday-Friday.
Below is an example of our teaching bookings (click the image for a larger view). These are departmental sessions, and take place each week during the Semester. The rooms are sometimes available to other users, due to industrial visits etc, so please do check with us for availability.
Student Room Bookings
When our rooms are not being used for taught modules, students from the Faculty of Engineering may request to use a room for group study, presentation practice, revision etc. Rooms are available between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm Monday to Friday and can be booked by students up to 7 days in advance.
KG221 - Design Studio
(Maximum capacity 48)
The Design Studio is equipped with a lectern with PC, data projector, OHP and whiteboards.
NB During revision and exam weeks we try to allocate this room as an open-access quiet study room – a timetable is published nearer to the time.
KG222, KG220, KG219 and KG211 - Breakout Rooms 1 to 4
(Standard seating layout for 12, maximum capacity 16)
Breakout Rooms are all equipped with a PC, Promethean interactive board, LCD projector and whiteboards.
Additional Equipment
A wireless mouse and keyboard is available for use in each room; please request when collecting the equipment tray.
Foyer Area
If rooms are not available, you may be able to use the Foyer for small group discussions.
Requesting a Room
You can book a room in one-hour slots between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday. It is sometimes possible to book a room for half a day. Up to 7 days in advance you may:
- Email your requirements to engcetlbookings@lboro.ac.uk Please use your University email address and include the following details: name, department, date required, start/end times. Someone will then respond as soon as possible.
- In Person - Visit Reception and fill in details on our Request Form. You must give your University email address so we can acknowledge your request.
- Telephone – Call Judith Burton on 01509 227191 to make a booking over the phone and please confirm by email (as above) so we have your contact details.
Arrival
Our rooms are kept locked so please report to Reception to collect the equipment tray, sign in and leave a student ID card. If you move the tables, please ensure that the brake on each wheel is released before doing so.
Late Arrival
Any room not occupied within 15 minutes of the agreed booking time will be released for use by others.
Changing Bookings
If you no longer need a room, please inform us as soon as possible by email to: engcetlbookings@lboro.ac.uk, by phoning 01509 227191 or in person.
Vacating Rooms
- Vacate promptly.
- Switch off equipment and lights.
- Return furniture to the layout shown on the photograph in the box.
- Close all windows/rooflights.
- Ensure all equipment listed on inventory is returned to box.
- Lock room.
- Return equipment box and any additional equipment to Reception, sign out and collect your ID card.
General Information
- There is a “No Food and Drink” policy in engCETL rooms and in the Foyer, and we ask all students and staff to abide by this policy. Drinking water is allowed and there is a water fountain located in the corridor by the disabled toilets where you can refill your own water bottle (cups are not provided). Please take any empty bottles away with you to re-use or recycle.
- Problems with equipment – please refer to the information sheets provided in each room. If you still have a problem, please report it to Reception and someone will try to help.
- Rubbish – each room has a white bin for general waste (no food waste) and a green recycling bin for paper only (no cans, bottles etc).
- If it is raining, please close the rooflight! (Breakout Rooms 2 and 3).
Lost Property
Please check at Reception if you have lost anything.
